 PROJECTS SPOTLIGHT....

Chopsticks for Salamanders

Chopsticks For Salamanders (CFS) is a conservation initiative started in 2011 that promotes forest stewardship and salamander conservation.
The goals of this program are:
  • To disseminate information about the production of disposable chopsticks
  • To increase awareness about salamander diversity in the United States, and
  • To raise money for salamander conservation, education and research.

We partnered with the Houston Zoo and SSA to offer reusable chopsticks! Providing the signage and holding a lunch and learn for the SSA sales staff  helped with the success of spreading the message and with sales. We continue to sell them at other individual events we have.
